4 works-in-progress for a project i'm working on at school :]
the 'special helpers' of st nicholas/sinterklass/etc... two for krampus one for zwarte piet and one for père fouettard. i wasted a good chunk of the semester painting bigger than i was comfortable with and turning out crud i was not excited about and finally reverted back to my usual work size. these are about 4.5x3inches each  EDIT: edit one replaced. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. All of which is codswollop. These are beautiful. Really, really lovely in treatment of subject and composition, and the way you've handled the paint. Only thing I'd poke at would be your values; be careful how you use color with reference to value. Strong chroma can act as counterbalance to value, but you've got to make sure you're being consistent when you play that game.
Does that make sense?

yeah someone else mentioned the values here too. i'm still new to painting and NOT relying on line work establishing my boundaries...i'm fine with a monochromatic palette but once color gets thrown into the mix it gets ugly.
i'll fiddle with that today. thank you! :]
